We don’t get to stop when we are senior in our careers
The “N” word
Many of my clients dread it.
NETWORKING
Networking is an important skill for the entirety of your career.
I’ve recently had the opportunity to work with a consulting firm on my networking plan.
Yes, 20 years into my biotech/pharma career and networking is as important as it was earlier in my career.
My networking plan is to connect with three NEW connections each week for the next month.
The first calls are tomorrow and I will be doing the following:
- Reviewing the connection’s LinkedIn profile
- Crafting 3 questions regarding their career that help me learn more about their trajectory
- Considering how I might provide value to the connection
- Making a plan for closing the call with a follow-up request
I challenge you to make a networking goal that is similar!
Remember that networking is a two-way street and there is value in the interaction for both parties!!
