FREEDOM and INDEPENDENCE
The 4th of July commemorates the Declaration of Independence when the thirteen American colonies were united, free and independent states and the United States of America were formed.
There are plenty of issues in the United States currently and the point of today’s blog is not to get political but to talk about
FREEDOM
And
INDEPENDENCE
as a physician in the pharmaceutical industry.
As a physician in pharma/biotech, you have FREEDOM from:
- Call
- A beeper/pager
- Payors dictating what treatments you can prescribe for your patients
- Charting and EMRs
- Jockeying with your colleagues for specific holidays off like Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc.
You also have INDEPENDENCE to:
- Choose when you will take vacation/holiday
- Attend multiple conferences/congresses per year
- Schedule a doctor or dentist appointment (without worrying about cancelling clinic)
- Attain new skills by learning from colleagues
