End of year reflections

A dear friend of mine recently said “I’m LOVING this year of Nerissa”.  I met this friend climbing Kilimanjaro and since that time she has become a very important friend. She has been through a lot with me since we summited Kili in 2023.

“the year of Nerissa” – I have to say it is definitely a fitting title for 2024!

I stopped working full-time in February.

Hiked ~75 miles in Chile – The O Circuit in Patagonia – that same month.

Went to a physician mastermind in California in April,

Mexico for a healing, integrative experience in May,

Took an epic one-month camper van trip across the United States with New Mexico as my ultimate destination (with my best dog ever, Snickerdoodle!)

Hosted my best friend from peds residency and her family for Fourth of July week…

Hiked in the Rockies in September

Completed The Presidential Traverse (NH mountains ~20 miles in 2 days) in September

Attended PIMDCON and physician mastermind where I decided to buy a short-term rental property for diversity in income streams and tax purposes (and I bought that rental and it is in service!)

Attended SEAK and met a lot of physicians interested in learning more about the pharma/biotech industry as a career path.

Initiated a home renovation (and I’m still living in that home!)

Flew ~20 hours to Koh Samui, Thailand for a week of yoga, meditation and relaxation at Vikasa Yoga Center (amazing!)

Heading to North Carolina to celebrate Christmas with my family there (the weekend before Christmas) and then hosting Christmas with my children and their father and his partner at my (hopefully finished!) newly renovated home!

It has been an amazing year of growth and reflection for me.

I’ve been through a lot personally and professionally.

I didn’t mention above that I started a consulting business in addition to my physician coaching business!

I’ve coached many physicians in 2024 – via The Pharma IndustryMDCoach

With success!

One took an MSL role

One was offered a Field Medical Director role

Another is working through what his next role in Pharma/biotech will be.

I’m looking forward to 2025 – reflecting on that happened in 2024 and all I learned.

I’m wishing all of you a wonderful New Year!
